This site called CoverBrowser.Com features thousands of pictures of comic book covers. That was good because I needed to check them for references' sake but what really held my attention was their record covers. These album covers were easily the worst I'd ever seen for the worst acts I'd ever seen. I present the best (?) for your perusal with some sarcastic comments included for your merriment.

How much of a comment do I need to make up for this guy? Only this: I know that if I were a kid and I went up to my mother saying this guy's name, I would be slapped quite strongly against my head as a warning to watch my mouth. Couldn't he have gone with "Rich Rock" as a stage name? Using 'Dickie' as a stage name doesn't make me think he's using his head. Sorry; I couldn't let it slip away.

I don't dislike Smokey The Bear but why does he have such a pouch? For that matter, why pants? Maybe he doesn't like forest fires because they call him away from his beer.

Disney must be feeling the recession to allow such a low budget job like this to slip out. I mean, even that cheesy Winnie The Pooh puppet show was better than this. Lo, how the giants fall.

Go, baby, go. I'm hoping the Christmas miracle is that baby tears the clarinet from Kenny's mouth and with great impact, lays it across Kenny's left temple. I don't dislike Kenny but I can only take so much Christmas schmaltz TIMES his clarinet playing. I'd feel the same with Lemmy but I wouldn't say it out loud.

(Pretty Much) Finished

I'm finished as of last night. Months of working on stolen time squeezed from I-don't-know-where finally pay off last night or more accurately this morning. Oh, I know where it was squeezed from: my sleep! I did without at night to put this gem up while jobhunting during the daylit hours. My website, my molecule in the universe that is the internet, is up and running. It's PaulDCandelaria.Com and while every square inch is not covered in artwork, I think it's got enough work posted to demonstrate what I can do with a pencil and other art supplies. Besides; I'll be filling it up soon enough so that's a good thing. Now, even though I still need a bill payer (non- art job) for the time being, I'll have this to show the world with all my baggy-eyed pride. I'd rest now but I have appointments to make. Awaaay!

John Kricfalusi' Blog

I've come across John Kricfalusi's blog which he has on this site and I'm amazed by what he features on it. Surprisingly, it isn't all John K. Rather, it's full of tribute to artists' whose work you probably know though you may not know the names. Artists who created the cartoon characters whom the world has watched non-stop for decades. My only objection to his blogging is the way he seems to disregard older comic book artists like Wayne Boring. I grew up with these artists and while they were by no means perfect in their craft, I enjoyed their work. Bottom line; that's why I bought the books, simple enjoyment. Life was too innocent to wonder Superman didn't kill every communist on Earth, you watched Superman try to find out why a whale looked like Lois Lane(!). That aside, I enjoy reading John 's blog because he also tends to have what I call mini-lessons on art-related items like the blandness of cartoon boys of Disney movies and how to draw trees. There is much more but I can't really discuss every single thing on his blog, this one would become a sequel and I have my own agenda (me). Let end this by saying his blog is amusing and a good learning tool for artists new and old and very much worth checking it out for yourself.
